Marseille secured a 4-3 victory over Le Havre in the eighth round of the French championship, despite surrendering most of a four-goal lead in a dramatic finish.
The hosts made a fast start at Stade Velodrome, opening the scoring after only five minutes. Marseille continued to control the match and appeared to have put the result beyond doubt when they led 4-0 after 55 minutes.
Le Havre, however, refused to give up and produced a remarkable response in the closing stages. The visitors scored in the 77th, 86th and 89th minutes to turn a seemingly comfortable Marseille victory into a tense finale.
Marseille ultimately held on for the three points, although their late collapse left the home supporters anxious before the final whistle.
The result leaves Marseille eighth in the Ligue 1 table with 12 points. Le Havre remain bottom, having collected only two points, with their prospects described as uncertain.
