Maresca says Foden was ‘down’ after Manchester derby red card

Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca has revealed that winger Phil Foden was left downcast after being sent off in the Manchester derby.

Foden received a red card midway through the first half of Manchester City’s 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the fourth round of the English Premier League.

The 26-year-old has made six appearances in all competitions this season, registering two assists.

Manchester City return to action on 17 September, when they face Norwich in the last 32 of the English League Cup. Kick-off is at 21:30 Moscow time.
