FC Lorient were beaten 2-1 by Le Mans on Saturday in the fifth round of Ligue 1, despite a late response that involved Burkina Faso left-back Arsene Kouassi.
Kouassi started the match and played the full 90 minutes. With Lorient trailing, he set up Jessen in the 79th minute to reduce the deficit.
The assist was Kouassi’s first of the season, but it was not enough to earn Lorient a point. The Merlus were unable to find an equaliser and suffered another defeat in the league.
