Leeds United have announced the arrival of Eintracht Frankfurt winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya, with the French forward moving from the Bundesliga to the Premier League for the current season.
The 21-year-old will spend the campaign with Leeds United on loan from the German club. The agreement also includes an option for Leeds United to make the transfer permanent, giving the Premier League side the opportunity to secure Bahoya’s services beyond the loan period.
The move was confirmed by Leeds United’s official media channels and represents a further addition to the club’s attacking options. Bahoya is a wide player who has been part of Eintracht Frankfurt’s first-team set-up since January 2024.
During his time with Eintracht Frankfurt, Bahoya has made 78 appearances for the club. He has scored seven goals and provided eight assists across those matches, contributing both in front of goal and in the creation of chances for team-mates.
Bahoya’s switch to Leeds United marks a change of competition for the player, who will now continue his development in the Premier League after playing in Germany. His season-long loan gives him the chance to establish himself in English football while Leeds United assess whether to exercise the option to buy included in the deal.
The transfer also gives Leeds United another attacking player capable of operating in wide areas. The club’s decision to include a possible permanent transfer in the agreement means Bahoya’s performances during the season could play a part in determining whether he remains at Elland Road on a long-term basis.
According to Transfermarkt, Bahoya has an estimated market value of 25 million euros. That valuation reflects the standing he has built since joining Eintracht Frankfurt, where he has accumulated significant first-team experience despite his relatively young age.
For Eintracht Frankfurt, the arrangement allows Bahoya to gain experience in a different league while retaining a route for the player to return or for the transfer to become permanent if Leeds United choose to complete the purchase.
The winger will therefore spend the current season with Leeds United, with the club’s announcement confirming both the loan agreement and the possibility of a future deal.
