Lassine Sinayoko celebrated his first professional hat-trick by helping Paris FC beat Olympique de Marseille 3-2, before admitting he was unsure whether he had scored his second goal.
The Mali international scored all three of Paris FC’s goals in the victory and spoke to Ligue 1+ after the match about the emotions of producing a landmark performance.
Sinayoko said the achievement had not fully sunk in during the match, as his immediate thoughts turned towards celebrating with his team-mates in the dressing room.
“Emotions. Sometimes we do things and think about them afterwards. I was so happy, I wanted to celebrate it in the dressing room, that I forgot... not the most important thing, but still something important,” he said.
The forward was also uncertain about the goal he scored in the 19th minute. Rather than being certain that he had found the net, Sinayoko said he needed to watch the incident again before deciding who had scored it.
“Did I really score the second goal? Honestly, I hesitated. I need to watch it again. I even asked Chergui, was it you or was it me? (smiles). I don’t know how it went in,” he said.
Despite that uncertainty, his contribution was decisive as Paris FC secured a 3-2 win over Olympique de Marseille. The result made the hat-trick particularly special for Sinayoko, who highlighted the significance of completing the feat in Marseille after coming from Paris.
“It’s my first professional hat-trick, so it has an even more special feeling. We come from Paris and do this in Marseille; there’s nothing better,” he said.
Sinayoko’s comments combined pride in a personal milestone with a playful reference to the rivalry between the two clubs. His performance ensured that the occasion was memorable both for the scale of his individual achievement and for the destination of Paris FC’s victory.
The forward’s three goals marked the first professional hat-trick of his career, while the 3-2 scoreline gave Paris FC a notable success against Olympique de Marseille. Speaking immediately afterwards, Sinayoko focused on the emotion of the moment, the uncertainty surrounding his second goal and the added satisfaction of delivering the result in Marseille.
His appearance on Ligue 1+ offered a light-hearted reflection on a night in which he became the central figure. Although he was still trying to establish exactly how one of his goals had crossed the line, there was no doubt about the importance of the overall outcome: Paris FC had beaten Olympique de Marseille, and Sinayoko had scored three times.
