Sevilla defender Kike Salas criticised the refereeing during the first half of his side’s match against Real Madrid, arguing that Arda Guler should have been dismissed before scoring.
Guler was involved in an off-the-ball incident with Peque in the 23rd minute. As the two players contested possession, the Real Madrid midfielder swung his arm and struck his opponent in the face with his elbow.
Peque fell to the ground, but the referee decided not to show Guler even a yellow card.
Guler then opened the scoring in the 30th minute. Real Madrid extended their advantage seven minutes later when Kylian Mbappe made it 2-0.
Salas expressed his frustration with the officials’ decision during a first half in which Sevilla fell two goals behind.
