Former Manchester United player Andrei Kanchelskis says Manchester City should not be removed from the Premier League over alleged breaches of the competition’s financial rules.
Kanchelskis believes the club should instead receive a substantial fine or a points deduction, saying: “The footballers are not to blame.”
An independent Premier League commission recently found Manchester City guilty of breaking the league’s financial regulations.
The club’s punishment has not yet been decided. Manchester City’s leadership has appealed against the commission’s ruling.
