Juventus have confirmed that midfielder Manuel Locatelli has undergone successful surgery after suffering an injury to the lateral meniscus in his right knee during the match against Milan.
The club said the operation was completed successfully, but did not provide an estimated timescale for Locatelli’s recovery. The Italy international is scheduled to begin a rehabilitation programme on 9 September.
Reports from other media suggest Locatelli could return to action in around three months, although that timeframe has not been confirmed by Juventus. The club’s statement did not indicate when he would be able to resume training or play again.
Locatelli sustained the injury to his right knee while playing against Milan. He will now start the recovery process following the operation, with his progress expected to be assessed as he works through the rehabilitation programme.
The absence of an official recovery estimate means the length of Locatelli’s spell on the sidelines remains unclear. Juventus have confirmed the nature of the treatment and the date on which rehabilitation will begin, but have not endorsed the three-month projection reported elsewhere.
Juventus also assess Jeremie Boga injury
Juventus also provided an update on Jeremie Boga, who suffered a muscular injury to his left thigh on 7 September.
Boga will undergo a further examination in two weeks. Juventus said the results of that assessment will allow the club to establish a more precise recovery timeframe for the footballer.
Unlike Locatelli, Boga has not undergone surgery. His current injury is being monitored, and the club will wait for the follow-up examination before determining how long he is expected to be unavailable.
The two updates leave Juventus without confirmed return dates for either player. Locatelli’s rehabilitation is due to begin on 9 September after his successful knee operation, while Boga’s recovery schedule will be clarified only after his examination in two weeks.
Juventus have therefore communicated the immediate medical steps for both players without setting definitive comeback dates. Locatelli’s possible return in three months has been mentioned by other media, but remains an unofficial estimate. For Boga, the club will not be able to give a more accurate indication until the next assessment has taken place.
