Inter Lagos have appointed Olusanjo Olutayo as interim head coach after Shakiru Giwa left the club on Tuesday.
Giwa’s departure followed a difficult opening to the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign, with Inter Lagos still searching for their first victory of the season.
The club confirmed Olutayo’s appointment in a statement, saying: “We are pleased to announce Coach Olusanjo Olutayo as our interim Head Coach. Welcome on board!”
Olutayo is expected to take charge of Inter Lagos for the first time when they face Nasarawa United in their Matchday Nine fixture on Sunday.
The match will be played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.
Inter Lagos have collected only two points from their opening league games and currently sit at the bottom of the NPFL table. They are yet to record a win in the competition this season.
Olutayo’s immediate task will be to improve the team’s results and lead them to their first victory of the campaign.
