Union Saint-Gilloise are expected to name Burkina Faso goalkeeper Herve Koffi in their starting line-up for Thursday’s UEFA Europa League meeting with Real Sociedad.
The second matchday of the league phase will take place on 15 October 2026, with kick-off scheduled for 16:45 GMT at Den Dreef in Louvain.
Union Saint-Gilloise could line up in a 3-1-4-2 formation, with Koffi behind a back three of Massire Sylla, Nikki Havenaar and Nohim Chibani.
Louis Patris and Kamiel Van De Perre are expected to operate in the wide positions, while Besfort Zeneli, Darius Olaru and Rob Schoofs could form the central midfield. Guilherme Smith and Raul Florucz are the likely attacking pairing.
Real Sociedad are also expected to make changes to their usual shape, with the Spanish side potentially using a 4-4-2 system.
Unai Marrero could start in goal, behind a defence featuring Hector Fort, Jon Pacheco, Mamadou Sarr and Aihen Munoz.
Benat Turrientes, Yangel Herrera, Sergio Gomez and Mikel Oyarzabal are in line to play across midfield. Orri Steinn Oskarsson is expected to lead the attack, while Takefusa Kubo or Goncalo Guedes could join him in the forward line.
The match will bring together Union Saint-Gilloise’s pressing and intensity and Real Sociedad’s technical approach.
Koffi and his team-mates will be aiming to make home advantage count as they pursue a positive result in their European campaign.
