Nigeria forward Gift Orban has been named the Turkish Super Lig’s Goal of the Month winner for September after his spectacular strike helped Amedspor beat Besiktas 3-2 at home.
Orban opened the scoring in the 13th minute, sending a powerful effort from long range beyond the goalkeeper to put Amedspor in front.
The 24-year-old joined Amedspor from Bundesliga club Hoffenheim on a season-long loan in July and has made an immediate impact in Turkey.
He has scored seven goals and supplied two assists in six league appearances for manager Besnik Hasi. That run of form has taken Orban to the top of the Super Lig scoring standings, where he is level with Trabzonspor forward Mohamed Salah.
Amedspor lead the league table and will have the chance to extend their campaign when they return to action on Saturday, October 10. Their next match is away to Genclerbirligi.
