Ghana will begin their U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign against Libya, with coach Desmond Osei selecting 32 players for a new preparation camp ahead of the decisive second-round tie.

The Black Meteors were exempt from the first round, while Libya reached this stage after eliminating Togo. The two sides will meet between 9 and 17 November 2026, with the winners advancing to the third qualifying round.

Osei will use the camp to assess his options and identify the squad he believes can secure Ghana’s progress. Players based abroad are also expected to join the group before the two matches against Libya.

The Ghana Football Association says the preparation camp is expected to be residential. It added that “temporary leave authorisations may be granted each week at the request of their clubs to allow them to take part in Ghanaian league matches”.

Should Ghana qualify, they will face the winners of the tie between Equatorial Guinea and Niger in the third round.
