Genoa weigh move for unattached Dutch-Nigerian defender Kingsley Ehizibue

Published on: 03 September 2026

Dutch-Nigerian right-back Kingsley Ehizibue, currently without a club, has been linked with a move to Genoa in Serie A.

The 31-year-old became unattached after leaving Udinese on 1 July 2026, ending a four-year spell with the Italian club. Ehizibue joined Udinese from German side 1. FC Koln in August 2022 in a deal reported at €1.5m.

A return to Serie A would offer Ehizibue an immediate opportunity to continue in a competition where he has made 115 appearances, scoring four goals and providing two assists. His record also includes 69 Bundesliga appearances and 122 games in the Eredivisie.

Ehizibue began his senior career with PEC Zwolle, progressing through the club’s youth system before establishing himself in the Netherlands. He later moved to Koln in 2019, where he spent three seasons before switching to Udinese.

Born in Munich, Ehizibue represents both Dutch and Nigerian nationality. He has played primarily as a right-back and is right-footed.

The reported interest from Genoa comes with the defender available after his departure from Udinese. No transfer fee has been specified for the proposed move, and the link remains at rumour stage.
