Former Scotland striker Duncan Ferguson has criticised Bruno Fernandes’ position at Manchester United, saying: “I would take Fernandes out of the Manchester United team.”
Fernandes, the club captain, voiced his frustration with the team’s tactics during the 4-1 defeat by Como. His comments were interpreted as a direct criticism of manager Michael Carrick.
The Portugal international subsequently faced public criticism over his remarks.
Manchester United are due to play Bournemouth in the Premier League on 25 October.
