Federico Gatti will stay at Juventus after the Italian club and Porto failed to reach an agreement over a move for the central defender during the final days of the summer transfer window.
The outcome was reported on social media by transfer insider Nicolo Schira, who said the 28-year-old Italy international would remain with the Turin side for at least until January.
Porto had shown interest in signing Gatti and negotiations took place between the two clubs as the summer window approached its deadline. However, talks did not produce an agreement on the terms of the proposed deal, meaning the defender will continue his career at Juventus for the time being.
Gatti has been a Juventus player since the winter of 2022. He joined the Turin club during that period and has since established himself as part of the team’s defensive options.
The defender made 28 appearances for Juventus last season and scored four goals. His market value is currently estimated at 14m euros.
With the discussions involving Porto now unsuccessful, Gatti is set to remain available to Juventus until at least the next transfer window in January. The latest development leaves him at the club despite the Portuguese side’s interest and the negotiations held in the closing stages of the summer market.
Juventus therefore retain a player who contributed four goals in 28 matches during the previous campaign. For Gatti, the failed agreement means his immediate future remains in Turin, where he has played since arriving in 2022.
