Federico Dimarco is expected to be available for Inter’s upcoming Champions League meeting with Real Madrid, although the defender is unlikely to start the match, according to OneFootball.
The 28-year-old had been a doubt after reports emerged that he had suffered an injury and could miss the fixture against the Spanish champions. However, Dimarco took part in Inter’s pre-match training session, suggesting he has made sufficient progress to be considered for selection.
Inter are expected to include Dimarco in their squad for the match, but he will probably begin the game among the substitutes rather than being named in the starting XI. His involvement in training provides a positive indication for the Italian club, although the final decision on his availability and role will be made before kick-off.
The fixture will be the opening match of the Champions League campaign for both Real Madrid and Inter. It is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 8 September, with kick-off at 22:00 Moscow time.
Dimarco’s possible return gives Inter another defensive option for a meeting with one of Europe’s most prominent clubs.
