Nigeria’s Falconets will square up against Malawi in May for a place at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Moses Aduku’s side will host the first leg of the final qualifying round between May 1 and 3, 2026, at a venue yet to be announced. The return leg will determine which nation secures one of Africa’s slots at the global tournament.
The Falconets booked their place in the final round after a 3–1 aggregate victory over the Lionesses of Senegal. Nigeria secured a narrow 1–0 win in the first leg in Abeokuta before sealing qualification with a 2–1 triumph in the reverse fixture.
Malawi, on their part, advanced decidedly, overpowering Guinea-Bissau 6–2 on aggregate in the third qualifying round to set up the decisive clash with Nigeria.
The winner over the two legs will qualify for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, which is scheduled to be hosted by Poland from September 5 to September 27, 2026.
