Nigeria’s Falconets have reached the round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after a 10-1 victory over New Caledonia in their final Group F match in Poland.
The emphatic result, secured on Sunday in ?odz, lifted Nigeria to second place in the group with four points, behind Spain. The Falconets will face England in the knockout stage on Thursday.
The National Sports Commission (NSC) congratulated the players, coaches and wider team after their dominant performance.
“The Falconets have booked their place in the knockout stage of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026 following a commanding 10-1 victory over New Caledonia in ?odz,” the NSC said on its X handle.
Ramotalahi Kareem and Winner Onajite David each scored three times to complete hat-tricks. Rebecca Adegbemile added two goals, while Seimeyeha Janet Akekoromowei and Tosin Rafiu were also on the scoresheet.
The NSC said the result had kept Nigeria’s campaign alive in Poland and praised the team for its response in the decisive group fixture.
