Deco has described 19-year-old Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsi as “Lamine Yamal among central defenders”, underlining the club’s belief in the teenager’s ability.
Cubarsi has played four matches for Barcelona in all competitions this season but has not recorded a goal or assist.
Barcelona’s next fixture is away to Levante on Sunday, 13 September. The La Liga fifth-round match will begin at 17:15 Moscow time.
The club also believe Lamine Yamal should win the Ballon d’Or.
