Davide Ancelotti has acknowledged the possibility of one day coaching Milan, saying: “You can dream for a long time.”
The 37-year-old is currently in charge of French club Lille, but was asked by journalists whether he would like to manage the Italian side in the future.
His answer leaves the idea open while making clear that it remains a distant ambition rather than an immediate possibility. “You can dream for a long time,” Ancelotti said when questioned about the prospect of taking charge at Milan.
The subject carries particular significance for the Ancelotti family. Davide’s father, Carlo Ancelotti, managed Milan from 2001 until 2009 and remains closely associated with the club after an eight-year spell in charge.
During his time at Milan, Carlo Ancelotti led one of Europe’s most prominent football teams. His period in charge forms an important part of the club’s recent history and means that any discussion of Davide potentially succeeding him at San Siro is inevitably linked to his father’s work there.
