David Raya says he would like to play in LaLiga at some point in his career, while stressing that he is currently very happy at Arsenal.

The Spain international has established himself as one of the world’s leading goalkeepers during his three seasons in north London. He initially joined Arsenal on loan from Brentford in 2023.

Raya has won three Premier League Golden Gloves since moving to the club and is Mikel Arteta’s undisputed first-choice goalkeeper at Emirates Stadium.

The 31-year-old has been linked tentatively with a possible return to Spain in the future following his country’s victory at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Raya acknowledged that playing in his homeland is an ambition.

“I’d love to play in LaLiga one day,” he told Marca.

“Right now, I’m very happy at Arsenal, but it’s true I’d love to play in LaLiga one day. It’s a very competitive league.

“I’m Spanish and I’d love to play in Spain, that’s obvious.”

Raya has made 176 Premier League appearances and kept 72 clean sheets. He remains under contract with Arsenal until 2028.
