Darryl Bakola emerges as January target as Sassuolo seek €30m

Published on: 27 October 2026

Darryl Bakola is attracting interest from Juventus, AC Milan, AS Roma and Napoli, with Sassuolo reportedly prepared to demand at least €30m for the 18-year-old midfielder.

The Italian clubs are monitoring Bakola ahead of the January 2027 transfer window, although no formal offer has yet been made for the player.

Bakola has made rapid progress since joining Sassuolo in February 2026, having previously spent two and a half years in the youth system at Olympique de Marseille. His development, physical presence and ability to make an impact in midfield have drawn the attention of several leading recruitment departments.

His style has also been compared with certain characteristics of Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, particularly in terms of his physical profile and influence in the centre of the pitch.

Sassuolo in strong negotiating position

According to information reported by Hooligan Soccer, Juventus, AC Milan, AS Roma and Napoli are all following Bakola's development closely as they assess whether to make a move in January 2027.

Sassuolo are under no immediate pressure to sell. Bakola is contracted to the club until June 2030, giving the Italian side significant control over any potential negotiations.

Juventus reportedly see the teenager as a player who could add energy and dynamism to their midfield. AC Milan and AS Roma are understood to value his versatility, while Napoli are also examining his profile as they consider strengthening their central midfield options.

Bakola's current market valuation is estimated at €15m by Transfermarkt, but that figure is below the level Sassuolo are believed to be seeking.

The club would reportedly be willing to begin discussions at €30m. Sassuolo also want performance-related bonuses included in any agreement, as well as a percentage of a future sale.

Those terms could make negotiations more difficult, despite the growing interest from several of Italy's biggest clubs.

January interest builds

With the January 2027 transfer window still several months away, Bakola has become a potential focus of competition between four prominent Serie A clubs.

No transfer has been agreed and Sassuolo have not formally authorised his departure. Juventus, AC Milan, AS Roma and Napoli must decide whether they are willing to meet the financial conditions set by his club.

Sassuolo are due to play their ninth-round league fixture against Lazio soon.
