The former Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has been offered to three Premier League clubs, with Liverpool, Manchester City and Fulham reported to be considering whether to pursue a deal for the 34-year-old free agent.
The transfer window in the major European leagues has now closed, but clubs can still sign players who are not under contract. Carvajal remains among the available players after leaving Real Madrid in the summer, bringing to an end a long association with the club.
According to Football Buzzer, citing TEAMtalk, Liverpool and Manchester City have both been offered the chance to sign the Spain international. A proposal has also been made to Fulham, whose manager is former Real Madrid player and coach Alvaro Arbeloa.
There has been no decision from either Liverpool or Real Madrid regarding Carvajal, while the defender is also attracting interest from clubs outside England.
Carvajal’s availability means he can still move to a new club despite the closure of the main transfer window. Clubs in the Premier League are therefore able to assess the possibility of bringing him in as a free agent rather than negotiating a transfer fee with Real Madrid.
The reports identify Liverpool and Manchester City as two of the leading Premier League clubs to have been approached. Fulham have also been included in the list because of Arbeloa’s current role at the club and his previous connection with Real Madrid.
However, the information does not indicate that any of the three clubs has reached an agreement with Carvajal. Liverpool and Real Madrid are both yet to make a decision on the situation, and the defender’s future remains unresolved.
Carvajal left Real Madrid during the summer after many years with the Spanish club. He is now listed among the players without a club, leaving him free to consider offers from England and elsewhere.
Interest from clubs in other countries could also influence the next stage of the process. For now, the defender is being linked with three Premier League sides, while no final decision has been reported on where he will continue his career.
