Denmark-Nigeria centre-forward Chido Obi has joined Willem II from Manchester United on loan, giving the 18-year-old a move to the Eredivisie until 30 June 2027.
Obi, who was born in Glostrup, Denmark, is a right-footed striker standing 1.88m tall. He moves to the Dutch club after progressing from Manchester United’s under-18 side into the senior squad.
The teenager joined Manchester United’s academy from a period without a club in October 2024, having previously been with Arsenal’s youth system. He made the move into Manchester United’s first-team structure in July 2025 and now begins his latest chapter in the Netherlands.
Obi arrives at Willem II with a record of prolific scoring at youth level. He finished as the leading scorer in the Under-18 Premier League in the 2023-24 season after scoring 32 goals, before claiming the FA Youth Cup scoring award in 2024-25 with seven goals.
His loan transfer was completed on 2 September 2026, with Willem II listed as his new club and Manchester United as his parent club. The move places him in the Eredivisie for the 2026-27 campaign, with the agreement scheduled to conclude on 30 June 2027.
Obi’s current market value is €5m, while his Manchester United career has included progression from the club’s under-18 team rather than a permanent move from another senior side. His earlier development began at Arsenal, where he moved from the youth setup into the under-18 squad in July 2023.
The forward’s youth honours provide the clearest measure of his impact before the switch to Willem II. His 32-goal Under-18 Premier League campaign came during the 2023-24 season, while his seven FA Youth Cup goals the following term secured another top-scorer accolade.
Willem II have now completed the signing of the Manchester United striker on loan, with Obi contracted to remain with the Dutch club until the end of June 2027.
