Chelsea are leading the race to sign Bournemouth and England midfielder Alex Scott, according to The Telegraph.

The 23-year-old remains a target for the London club after Bournemouth rejected several offers for him during the summer, including a final bid worth more than £60m.

Scott recently made his first start for England, playing 70 minutes in the 7-0 victory over Croatia. His performance earned strong praise from England manager Thomas Tuchel.

Chelsea are planning to strengthen their midfield during the winter transfer window and again next summer. However, Bournemouth do not intend to sell Scott during the winter window.

Liverpool and Arsenal are also interested in the midfielder, who joined Bournemouth. The club have attempted to negotiate an extension to his contract, but talks have failed to progress.

Scott will have one year remaining on his current deal at the end of the season.
