Benin coach Ouzerou Abdoulaye has confirmed his starting line-up for the Amazones’ opening match against Mexico at the 2026 Women’s U20 World Cup in Poland.
The match is scheduled to begin at 16:00 GMT, with Abdoulaye selecting Larissa Saizonou in goal and naming Jocelyne Tchetchri, Assanath Alassane, Hermione Lokossou and Romaine Gandonou in the team.
Yasminath Djibril will captain Benin in their first appearance of the tournament. She is joined in the starting XI by Deo Gratias Ebi, Hosane Soukou, Estelle Vidinhouede, Germaine Honfo and Nailatou Sadikou.

The announcement sets out the side that will begin the Amazones’ campaign against Mexico in Poland. Abdoulaye will lead the team from the touchline as Benin make their entry into the 2026 competition.
Djibril’s appointment as captain gives her a central leadership role in the opening fixture, while the line-up includes players from across the defensive, midfield and attacking units. Saizonou is the designated goalkeeper, with Tchetchri, Alassane, Lokossou and Gandonou named in the defensive group.
Ebi and Soukou are also included, alongside Vidinhouede, Honfo and Sadikou, completing the starting team selected for the meeting with Mexico.
With the official XI now confirmed, Benin’s focus turns to the opening whistle at 16:00 GMT. The match against Mexico will be the first competitive test for the Amazones at the Women’s U20 World Cup in Poland, with Abdoulaye and his players beginning their tournament campaign with the announced starting side.
