Manuel Neuer was absent for Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga match against RB Leipzig on Saturday, with sporting director Max Eberl providing an update on the experienced goalkeeper’s condition.
Neuer’s absence has raised concerns over his availability for Bayern’s next Champions League fixture against Arsenal.
Bild reported that the build-up of fluid may be linked to the player’s workload rather than an injury. However, Neuer remains at risk of missing the meeting with Arsenal.
Bayern will host Arsenal on Wednesday, 21 October.
