Barcelona have identified Tottenham Hotspur right-back Pedro Porro as a target as they plan further squad reinforcements, despite the transfer window having closed.
Head coach Hansi Flick is understood to regard the 27-year-old as an ideal option for the position because of his understanding with Lamine Yamal on the right wing for Spain.
Porro has developed an effective relationship with Yamal at international level. He recognises when to push forward and when to remain in a deeper position, while also creating space for the Barcelona winger to use.
That tactical understanding is considered particularly valuable for Yamal, with Porro’s movement and positioning able to support the teenager’s attacking role.
A move for Porro could also allow Barcelona to sell Jules Kounde, according to El Nacional. The French defender has featured at right-back for the Catalan club, despite also being able to play at centre-back.
Porro is valued at 45 million euros by Transfermarkt.
