Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has asked club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco to consider a move for Bournemouth forward Kroupi, according to Gazeta.Ru, citing El Nacional.
Flick continues to want a long-term option at centre-forward, but his assessment of Victor Osimhen has made him cautious about a major investment. The German watched the Galatasaray striker closely on Tuesday before deciding that the Nigeria international would not improve Barcelona’s existing squad.
Barcelona have been linked with high-profile forwards including Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland as they look for a striker to build around in the future. Flick, however, has focused on a different target in the Premier League.
The Barcelona manager does not believe the club should spend an enormous fee on a forward while Raphinha is performing strongly in the position. The squad also includes Gabriel Jesus and Hamza Abdelkarim, giving Flick further reason to consider a younger and potentially more cost-effective option.
Flick is believed to regard the 20-year-old Kroupi as a player with significant potential. Kroupi represents France at youth level and currently plays for Bournemouth.
Transfermarkt values the forward at 70m euros.
