Published on: 13 September 2026

Arthur Okonkwo continued his impressive start to life at Charlton Athletic by keeping another clean sheet in the club’s 0-0 draw against Portsmouth in the English Championship, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Nigerian goalkeeper produced his second consecutive shutout after also keeping QPR at bay in Charlton’s previous Championship fixture, which ended goalless.

Okonkwo has now recorded three clean sheets in six Championship appearances this season, putting him among the division’s leading goalkeepers in that category.

The 25-year-old joined Charlton on loan from Wrexham and has quickly established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.

He has featured in every minute of the five Championship matches in which he has played, completing 450 minutes between the posts.

His latest performance against Portsmouth further underlined his growing importance to Charlton, who have benefited from his consistency at the back during the early stages of the campaign.

With back-to-back clean sheets now under his belt, Okonkwo will be looking to maintain his strong form as Charlton continue their Championship campaign.
