Amorim admits Milan became too cautious after taking 3-0 lead against Atalanta

Ruben Amorim said Milan were too concerned about conceding in the closing stages of their Italian championship match against Atalanta, rather than continuing to attack for a fourth goal.

Milan appeared to be in control at 3-0, but Atalanta scored in the 66th and 81st minutes to set up a tense finish. The match ended 3-2.

“We were afraid of conceding, although we should have been striving to score the fourth,” said Amorim, who also discussed his use of player rotation and Milan’s performance in the latter stages.

Milan have 15 points and are fourth in the table. Atalanta are 10th with nine points.
