Al-Sadd Submit Official Offer for Super Eagles Captain Wilfred Ndidi

Qatar Stars League giants Al-Sadd SC have submitted an official offer for Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi as the Nigerian midfielder continues to attract interest away from Turkish club Besiktas, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.

Turkish football journalist Ertan Süzgün reported on Friday that a Qatari club could approach Ndidi, with that possibility now materialising after Al-Sadd’s formal bid for the experienced midfielder.

Ndidi’s future at Be?ikta? has been the subject of speculation, with the Turkish club understood to have been willing to consider his departure for a fee in the region of €10 million. However, no offer matching that valuation had arrived until Al-Sadd entered the picture.

Be?ikta? manager Vincenzo Italiano had reportedly informed the club’s management that they should be prepared to consider offers for Ndidi, with the midfielder available for transfer if a suitable proposal is received.

Italiano is understood to be seeking two new midfielders, one with strong box-to-box qualities and another who can provide defensive strength while also offering greater technical ability in possession.

Al-Sadd’s interest in Ndidi could therefore provide Be?ikta? with the opportunity to reshape their midfield while giving the Nigerian international a potential route to continue his career in Qatar.

Ndidi joined Be?ikta? after leaving Leicester City and has established himself as an important figure in the club’s midfield. The latest development could now determine whether the 29-year-old remains in Turkey or makes a move to the Qatar Stars League.
