Al-Qadsiyah Monitor Zaidu Sanusi as Porto Contract Talks Stall

Published on: 27 August 2026

Super Eagles and FC Porto left-back Zaidu Sanusi has emerged as a potential target for Saudi Pro League club Al-Qadsiyah, with the Nigerian defender facing an uncertain future at the Portuguese giants, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Porto are keen to keep the 28-year-old and have held discussions over a contract extension, but negotiations have reportedly stalled due to Sanusi’s wage demands.

With the Nigeria international entering the final year of his current contract, Porto could consider selling him during the ongoing transfer window rather than risk losing the experienced defender for nothing next summer.

Al-Qadsiyah are understood to be monitoring the situation and could make an approach for Sanusi as they look to strengthen their squad with an experienced left-back.

Sanusi joined Porto in 2020 and has since established himself as an important member of the Portuguese club, winning domestic honours during his time at the Estádio do Dragão.
