Super Eagles forward Akor Adams scored the only goal as Venezia beat reigning Italian champions Napoli 1-0 on Saturday.
Adams’ decisive finish settled a closely contested Italian Serie A match and secured all three points for the hosts.
Napoli were unable to find an equaliser as Venezia defended their advantage to claim a narrow but important victory.
The result provides a significant boost to Venezia, who will aim to build on the performance as the Serie A campaign continues.
For Adams, the match-winning contribution underlines his growing importance to the team as he continues to make his mark in Italian football.
