Raph Pearce, the 21-year-old son of former Blackburn defender Ian Pearce, is attracting growing attention in England after guiding a small amateur club through an eight-match unbeaten run.
Pearce’s latest success has drawn comparisons with his father, who won the English title with Blackburn in 1995. The younger Pearce also made an immediate impression at his current club, winning 4-0 in his first match in charge at the end of last season.
Ian Pearce spent most of his playing career with West Ham United and Fulham after leaving Blackburn. He ended his career with Southampton, Lincoln City and Kingstonian.
Following his retirement from playing, Lincoln City was the only club at which Ian Pearce worked as an assistant manager. He is now sporting director at West Bromwich.
His son, meanwhile, has taken an early step into management and is overseeing a side that has not lost in eight consecutive matches.
