Iliman Ndiaye has completed a move from Everton to Manchester City in a deal worth 75 million euros including bonuses, with the Senegal international signing a five-year contract on Tuesday evening.
The transfer was finalised just hours before the English transfer window closed, bringing an end to Ndiaye’s two-year stay at Everton. The 26-year-old joined the Toffees from Olympique de Marseille in 2024 for a fee of about 20 million euros.
Ndiaye had initially been linked with a move to Tottenham, but Manchester City made a late push to secure his signature. The Premier League champions reached an agreement with Everton and persuaded the player to move to Manchester before the deadline.
The Senegal forward now has the opportunity to continue his development within one of Europe’s most ambitious clubs. He will also face the challenge of competing for a place in a Manchester City squad packed with established high-level attacking players.
Tottenham were not the only club interested in Ndiaye during the final weeks of the transfer window. Al Hilal also wanted to sign the player, according to exclusive sources cited by Africafoot, but City ultimately won the race for his signature.
The deal will also provide a financial benefit for Olympique de Marseille. The French club is expected to receive about five million euros because of a sell-on clause included when Ndiaye moved to Everton in 2024.
That agreement gave Olympique de Marseille a 10% share of any profit Everton made from a future sale. With the current transfer valued at approximately 75 million euros, Everton’s profit is estimated at around 55 million euros, allowing Marseille to collect a significant additional payment.
Ndiaye leaves Everton after establishing himself as an important attacking player for the club. During his time at Goodison Park, he made 67 Premier League appearances and scored 15 goals.
His performances for the Toffees helped strengthen his position as a regular member of the Senegal national team, while the move to Manchester City represents the biggest club challenge of his career so far.
At City, Ndiaye will be expected to take another step forward and compete in an environment where opportunities are likely to be contested intensely. The transfer could give him the platform to establish himself among European football’s leading attacking players.
