Former Nigeria international, John Obi Mikel has responded to Chelsea striker Nicholas Jackson after the forward hit at the former player for his criticism, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Jackson responded sharply to former player John Obi Mikel’s criticism after Chelsea’s 6-2 win over Wolves.
Mikel had questioned Jackson’s performance following a loss to Manchester City.
Jackson, who scored the opening goal against Wolves, took to Instagram, telling Mikel to “shut your mouth” and accusing him of undermining African players.
"I really like the guy as a football player. I haven't said that he is a bad player at all, have just said that his finishing qualities are not there yet," he said.
"All I have said he needs a more kind of experience striker to come into the football club to help him improve, to help him get better because we all can see the shift he puts in week in week out. So for me I will like to see my African brother, like he said do well in the Premier League, do well at Chelsea just like Didier Drogba did well."
Mikel however stated that he will not shut except the fromer Villarreal man scores week in, week out.
"If he plays well I will praise him if there is something to be said about him where he needs to improve I will definitely say it. If he scores every week and tells me to shut up, I'll take that."
