Super Falcons' Coach Randy Waldrum has stated after his team secured the 2024 Paris Olympics ticket that they stuck to the plan to get the qualification against South Africa on Tuesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Nigeria held South Africa in Pretoria to a goalless draw to beat the reigning African champions 1-0 on aggregate to secure Olympic qualification after 16 years absence.

The Falcons defensively kept their cool putting the South Africans at bay for 90 minutes and the US tactician disclosed that the team followed instructions to achieve the result.

He disclosed that the team did very well defensively and felt that with better preparation, the team will improve offensively.

"I think the team did everything that we asked them to do to get the result. We knew South Africa at to really come at us. We respect their strength, we respect their team very much, we know what their qualities are, but I think this was our 7 or 8 clean sheets in 8 or 9 games, I think it was Australia that scored twice on us so I think we have been very good defensively.

I always felt strong about that and with some proper work we going to get better on the offensive side (which I know everyone is asking for), but with som time to prepare, get our players together." He said.

The Pitt Women's Soccer Coach also expressed delight over securing Olympic qualification, thanking the fans for their support.

"I'm just extreme excited. I know what it means to the fans of Nigeria, the NFF, the people of Nigeria not have qualified for 16 years. So for them I'm very thankful, I'm happy I just appreciate the support."
