After Odion Ighalo revealed that he turned down "almost £300,000 a week" to play in China, Emmanuel Emenike has now also claimed he rejected a big deal to head to the Far East.
Watford striker Ighalo says he was offered a lucrative deal by big-spending Hebei China Fortune in the January transfer window, but he said no as "you can't sell your dream".
And now his Nigerian team-mate Emenike has also confirmed that he said turned down a big-bucks offer from China as he preferred to move to the English Premier League.
The 28-year-old joined West Ham United on loan from Turkish outfit Fenerbahce just days before the transfer window closed in January.
"The deal in China would have fetched him up to $8 million a year, all tax-free," a source is quoted as saying by Africanfootball.com.
"But he preferred to move on loan to the EPL instead."
