"I have my people around me here" - Samuel Chukwueze on Fulham's deadline day move

Samuel Chukwueze has revealed the key detail that played a major role in his transfer deadline day move to Fulham after the Nigerian winger completed a season-long loan move to the EPL outfit from AC Milan, Nigeriansoccernet.com reports.

The former Villareal forward attributed the move to a connection with his Nigerian brothers, admitting that it played a major role in his switch. The Nigerian international, who represents his country alongside Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey, will now team up at the club level.

“I’m so happy to be here. It’s an amazing club. It feels like home, because I have my people around me," he said in his first media duties with the club.

“I feel at home already, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Chukwueze has been handed the number 19 shirt at his new club, where he's expected to be available for selection following international clearance after the international duty.

He leaves Milan after an impactful two-year spell, during which he registered a goal contribution nearly every other match across 70 appearances.

On the international stage, he has been a mainstay for Nigeria since making his senior debut in 2018 as a 19-year-old, and he has since earned 46 caps while scoring seven goals for the Super Eagles.
