Nigerian forward, Samuel Chukwueze has stressed the importance of the Super Eagles winning their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The winger who joined Fulham on a sesson long loan yesterday has his mind in the game at hand despite the glamour around his arrival.

The victories, he believes, would significantly boost the team's chances of securing a place at the World Cup.

The Super Eagles currently sit fourth in Group C with seven points from six games, trailing behind leaders South Africa, who have 13 points.

"For now I am just focusing on the game. We need the two games, Rwanda and South Africa.

So, I think we have to win the two games to secure our World Cup ticket... for now, I have to focus on getting the job done for Nigeria.” Chukwueze told Fulham TV.

Chukwueze is set to join the team in camp ahead of the crucial fixtures, with Nigeria facing Rwanda at home on Saturday and South Africa away three days later.
