HULLABALOO Pursue Chikatara’s Wydad Move

The controversy over the transfer of Chisom Chikatara, Abia Warriors striker, to Wydad Casablanca is still raging after the Moroccan club insited still lay clkaim to the player. Wydad claimed on Wednesday that they have completed the signing of the Nigeria striker and are waiting to welcome him. Chikatara did not joined the team as scheduled according to the release on the club’s website, and that they are ready to contact Emeka Inyama, Abia Warriors President, on why their player was yet to arrive Morocco. “Chisom Chikatara, the new Wydad signing, did not arrive to Casablanca as scheduled, even though Wydad met all the details of his transfer by the due dates, and took all the legal measures to insure his smooth transition,” Wydad said on their website. “According to the national and international laws and regulations in this matter, Wydad’s board of directors will contact the president of Abia Warriors FC to question the failure to commit to what was agreed upon. “The board of directors also renews their commitment to all the agreements and terms of their contract with both the club, and the player; however we are not open to re-negotiations, and will not allow any kind of blackmailing, because above all, the board defends the interests of our club. “The club maintains its position, and respects all aspects of his agreement signed in the past, and awaits the arrival of his new player Chisom Chikatara.” However, Abia Warriors chairman Emeka Inyama insisted any agreement with WAC has been cancelled after they failed to meet several agreements. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has equally announced they have not issued Chikatara’s International Transfer Certificate to the Moroccan club.
