Hull City Manager Steve Bruce Coy Over Future at KC Stadium

Published on: 29 May 2016

"?Hull City manager Steve Bruce has told "?ITV.com that he is unsure of where his future lies after guiding the club back into the Premier League.

The Tigers' 1-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday in Saturday's Championship play-off final ensured that they return to the top flight of English football at the first time of asking.

Bruce was appointed Hull manager in June 2012, and has overseen 201 matches in charge of the KC Stadium-based outfit in that time.

The 55-year-old, however, was coy over whether he would still be in charge ahead of the 2016/17 season.

He said: "I don't know if I'm staying myself yet.

"I'll have a conversation like I said I would at the end of the season, like I've always done for the last two years.

"I've got to make sure that we're equipped. I still haven't 100 per cent decided. I'll have a chat with my family and we'll see."

Bruce was also quizzed over potential dealings in the upcoming summer transfer window, if he decided to remain on Humberside.

Hull will have to bolster their first-team squad ahead of the next campaign, and have struggled to attract quality players in previous Premier League seasons due to their location in England.

And the ex-Manchester United player was frank in his assessment of Hull's ability to bring in star names in the close season.

"It's always difficult for us because of where we are (geographically)," he added.

"We try to attract the best players but we are never going to be the biggest payers, and it's difficult to try and get people to come to us, even if we have the money, so there is a long road ahead.

"Teams like Bournemouth, Swansea, West Brom - we have to emulate teams who have been in and around the Premier League for a few years."
