Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan has vowed that the Pharaohs will give their all in Saturday’s third-place playoff against Nigeria at the Mohammed V Sports Complex, Casablanca, writes Nigeriasoccernet.com.

Both teams are seeking to end their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations campaigns on a high, following semi-final disappointments. Egypt fell 1-0 to Senegal, while Nigeria exited after a 4-2 penalty shootout defeat to Morocco.

Hassan stressed the importance of finishing on the podium. “We will fight for victory tomorrow in order to get on the podium and close the AFCON on a positive note,” he said during his pre-match press briefing.

The Pharaohs’ coach also expressed satisfaction with his team’s overall performance in the tournament, despite some inconsistent moments. “The most important thing now is to capitalize on the achievements of this AFCON and correct the mistakes in preparation for the next competitions,” Hassan added.
