Higuain tipped with Juve return

Published on: 15 June 2019

Gonzalo Higuain's agent and brother Nicolas believes the Argentine striker will be back playing for Juventus next season.

The 31-year-old joined Chelsea for the second half of last season on a loan deal but struggled to make a big impact in the Premier League, scoring just five goals in 14 appearances.

The west London outfit do have an option to turn the deal into a permanent move but, with Blues manager Maurizio Sarri off to Juve, it seems likely Higuain will be going back to his parent club with him.

Some reports have suggested that fellow Serie A outfit Roma is a possible destination for Higuain this summer although his agent insists he will not be playing for anyone other than Juve if he does go back to Italy.

Nicolas Higuain said on Radio Marte: "Gonzalo has a contract with Juve and wants to respect them. His performances at Juventus have always been good, especially in the first year.

"Another experience in Serie A? No, in Italy he would only play with Juventus. The thought is to finish his career at Juventus."

Juve are 4/6 to retain their Serie A title next season.
