Napoli head coach, Antonio Conte has refused to give much away about the transfer status of his star striker, Victor Osimhen, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Osimhen has been a subject of transfer speculations for over a season with the Nigeria international being linked to Manchester United, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-German, Arsenal and Saudi club.
With the Conte as the newly appointed gaffer, the former Juventus this week opened camp for training along Osimhen prepping for the new season.
Quizzed on the what will become the future of the 25 year-old, Conte only acknowledged he spoke with him without revealing what their discussion entails.
“I spoke to Victor and there are no changes on his situation. He’s a top player”.
“He’s Napoli player today so he needs to work hard, even if we’ve an agreement [for his potential exit] and still we don’t know the outcome of this story”. Contr said as par Fabrizio Romano.
Osimhen had previously agreed to leave Napoli this summer, but the €130 million release clause in his contract has deterred potential suitors.
Conte's comments suggest that Osimhen remains a valued asset at Napoli, and the club expects him to maintain his professional commitment until his future is resolved.
