Paul Onuachu received a heroic welcome on Wednesday as he arrived at Trabzonspor International Airport, writes Nigeriasoccernet.com.
Images shared via Trabzonspor’s official Twitter account showed a large number of fans who trooped out en masse to welcome the Nigerian striker.
Onuachu was first greeted by club officials before he was mobbed by the large crowd eager to see him back.
The 31-year-old spent the 2023/24 season on loan with the Black Sea Storm, where he made a strong impression.
During that spell, he netted 17 goals in 25 appearances, quickly becoming a fan favourite.
Now, the Nigerian international is set to complete a permanent transfer to the former Turkish Super Lig champions.

His former club, Southampton, confirmed last Friday that they had reached an agreement with Trabzonspor for his transfer.
While at the English club, Onuachu managed four goals in 25 appearances, a stark contrast to his impact in Turkey.
This move marks a fresh start and a return to a team where he feels at home.
The tall striker will be expected to lead the line as Trabzonspor builds for the new campaign.
His signing adds to a growing list of reinforcements for the club.
Trabzonspor has already secured Joaquin Pina’s signature.
They are also moving close to completing a deal for Jean-Charles Castelletto, further bolstering their squad.
Fans are hopeful that Onuachu’s return can push the club toward title contention.
