Hearts of Oak are likely to be releasing as much as twelve (12) players to free up space in its first team for new acquisitions this off-season.

The club is already looking to strengthen its squad way ahead of the start of the next football season following their disappointing campaign in the just ended season.

The Phobians are however limited in making wholesale changes this term with a directive from the Ghana FA to all Premier League clubs pegging the number of registered players to 30 for the new season.

Hearts currently have thirty eight (38) players on their first team roster, meaning they have a surplus of eight even before they start their real transfer business.

Administrative Manager of the club Hackman Aidoo says this directive may force up to 12-15 players out of the club.

“It is likely, doing the mathematics that about 12 or 15 players will be leaving the club,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“There is however no confirmation of the players who will be leaving as we are yet to have a new coach.

“The new coach will be the one to make the basement of players and make recommendations in that regard.

“Some will be leaving permanently while others will be temporal to other clubs on loan.”
