Hearts are willing to pay a heavy compensation fee for Medeama coach Tom Strand, GHANAsoccernet.com understands.

Senior sources within the Accra-based side are convinced that the Swedish trainer will be their next head coach next season barring any unforeseen contingencies.

The Phobians are ready to break bank to bring their long-tern target to the club as they seek to fortify their technical direction ahead of the new season.

Strand is still contracted to Medeama, meaning a huge financial compensation must exchange hands before any potential deal is sealed.

Strand, 32, is regarded as high-flying coach having guided the Mauve and Yellows to their second FA Cup crown at the expense of Asante Kotoko.

He has constantly been on the radar of the Ghanaian giants even though nothing concrete has come out in the past.

But it appears the former African champions are desperate to end their long wait for a crown and are bent of hiring experienced hands to deliver them their first League title in ovr five years.

Former interim coach Eddie Ansah and technical director Can Vanli are among 12 coaches who have applied for the vacant coaching job, insiders have told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Hearts endured a difficult campaign last term with their near-relegation being aided by boardroom points.
