Hearts of Oak striker Gilbert Fiamenyo insists the team is not going into the weekend’s clash with Esperance to defend but rather to fight for a win.

The Phobians have already left Accra for Tunis to face Esperance in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup qualifier to be played on Sunday.

Hearts go into the clash as massive underdogs due to their team’s perceived lowered quality as compared to the Tunisian giants.

The team is thus thought of going to Tunisia with a mindset of limiting the expected damage in order to remain in the tie by the time they host Esperance in the return leg.

But Gilbert Fiamenyo says they will not approach the game with a defensive mindset but rather to go for the kill.

“We are not going there to defend but then taking a winning mentality there,” he said.

“We are not going there to defend but also try to get a win there just like we’ve done throughout our campaign in away games.”
